The D.I.Y Music Festival commences the Simultaneous Festival with sounds from local and visiting musicians. Each local band that is playing has invited an out of town friend to come and perform also. Something like 36 bands will be playing over the weekend. Also some of these groups will be playing at different locations around the city during the bike tour.

10am — 4pm
Open Market welcomes anyone in any trade to bring their wares to show, trade, sell. The lawn in back of the Soap Factory will be open your blanket or booth or whatever you feel necessary to display your things. If needed we can hold your stuff overnight.

2pm — 10pm
A selection of seminars, workshops and presentations (or whatever you want to call them) will be open to the public. Topics range from alternative economies and knot tying to bicycle maintenance and culinary creation. Feel free to contact us if you would like to lead one (simultaneousfestival@gmail.com). Remember you don't need a fancy degree or union certification to know how to do something and we all have something to share.

You are welcome to join us for a potluck. Come on and bring a dish to share and enjoy a meal, strong conversation and debate. No 6pm meal on Monday.

Canon Fodder - Provisional radical reading room; progressive propagation, dissemination station: This temporary library will offer a distribution point for resources, information and publication. Also a reference section will be available for looking/listening and copying. There will be photocopiers and computers available to make copies of this material. If you have resources to share for this contact maddynye@gmail.com all materials will be overseen by a volunteer librarian so no need to worry about those rare books being walked off with.

Although it may seem that a structure has been created to shape this Festival it is not intended as absolute, but as a inception point. Feel free to add on and edit what we have started. Let us know what you want to do with the space and time which we have acquired. We are not a governing body of this festival, we merely hope to act as a central reference to answer your questions and get you the resources you need.

Don't forget to pass the word on to friends, family, acquaintances, rivals, passers-by, fellow citizens, fans, peers, elders, youth, neighbors...
